Our Story
Built From the Search for Something Better.
KOVA was founded by Lisa in 2018, born from a simple truth: for too long, rushed appointments, inconsistent results and hygiene you're left to simply hope for have been treated as the norm across too many salons — and it's a problem that still continues today, far beyond just one salon or one city.
Lisa believed nails deserved better — and built KOVA to be exactly that. A salon where technique, hygiene, beautiful results and genuine care are held to the same uncompromising standard, from nail to experience, and where you leave wanting to return.
It's part of something larger: Lisa's ongoing mission to raise the standard of the nail industry for the better — for clients and nail technicians alike, in Australia and around the world.

Our Hygiene & Sterilisation Standard
Your Safety Comes First. Always.
A beautiful salon is not enough. The standards behind the service matter just as much.
At KOVA, reusable metal implements go through our established cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation process, including sterilisation using a Class B medical-grade autoclave.
We also use single-use disposable materials for every client wherever the item is designed to be disposable.
Maintaining these standards requires dedicated equipment, time, training and ongoing investment — but we believe proper hygiene should never be treated as an optional extra.
You should be able to relax knowing that safety is built into the way your appointment is carried out.

Our average manicure appointment is approximately 1.5 hours, giving your Nail Artist the time to focus on your nails properly — while giving you time to switch off, relax and enjoy the experience.

Meet Lisa, Founder of KOVA.
Lisa KOVA founded KOVA Nails & Beauty with the goal of raising the standard of the nail salon experience.
Her search for the best techniques and professional standards has taken her around the world, where she has continued studying, testing and refining her approach to nails.
Over the years, Lisa has completed hundreds of professional courses and developed extensive experience across manicure, pedicure, extensions, nail health, technique and salon standards.
She is also the founder of KOVA Nails Education, an international education platform through which she has taught more than 2,000 nail artists worldwide.
Lisa is the author of four professional education programs:

- The Art of Pedicure
- A-Z Polygel Extensions
- Beauty Business
Her students include nail artists who have gone on to build successful careers, open their own salons and teach the next generation of professionals.
Today, Lisa's knowledge and experience continue to shape the standards, techniques and education behind KOVA.
